The Birdcage Bandstand, Brighton – a Wedding Photographer’s Dream

The Birdcage Bandstand, Brighton sea front - romantic, moody & atmospheric When Lucy & Luke got married at the Marriage Room, Hove Town Hall last Saturday, they really needed a better looking location for their wedding photographer to catch them in a romantic moment of matrimonial bliss. So we all jumped into the wedding car (a Brighton taxi) and went down to the Birdcage Bandstand, sole survivor of a once proud line of such bandstands that graced the promenade of Brighton & Hove, newly renovated and restored and looking glorious with its intricate wrought iron tracery illuminated against a cloudy, stormy sky heavy with August rainclouds. As a Sussex wedding photographer I get to photograph some very lovely wedding venues around East and West Sussex, but sometimes moments spent at a characterful location like the Birdcage Bandstand can make all the difference to a set of wedding photos.
