High Quality, Low-Cost Wedding Photography

In recognition of the economic climate, I have taken the decision this year to offer a substantial 30% discount on all my all-day wedding photography packages booked this year. In addition I have not raised the prices of any wedding photography service or product even in the light of the recent government VAT increase, and continue to offer 2009/2010 prices. Brighton Seafront Tuctuc Wedding Photographs

Anthony & Dianne come from near Sunderland, a long long way from Brighton, and booked their wedding photographer at very short notice compared to some. They were originally going to get married very differently, but after serious illness put everything on hold, they made the decision to go all fun & frivolous! So it was out with the white dress & wedding car, and instead they took a small group of close family & friends to Brighton for the weekend, hired a Tuctuc, and a very relaxed, laid-back wedding photographer… and had a very touching little ceremony at Brighton Registry Office in the capable hands of two of my favourite Brighton registrars, Dr Trevor Love and Rebecca Roach. I met Dianne at the Brighton Holiday Inn, just as there was a fire alarm & full evacuation – luckily she recognised me as her wedding photographer due to the large camera, and I recognised her as my bride due to her unusually bright dress! Our excellent tuctuc driver zoomed through the streets of Brighton, along the seafront, all the way up Madeira Drive, giving Dianne the grand tour of Brighton’s promenade in the brilliant sunshine before heading back towards the town centre & Brighton Registry Office. Then after the ceremony we all went off to Brighton seafront in the tuctuc again for some excellent shots down at the carousel and deck chairs on the beach. Finally to Al Duomo for some excellent nosh in a beautifully decorated upstairs room. A splendid day full of genuine emotion, with a small bunch of lovely people who I sincerely hope to see again whenever they return to Sussex. Thank you both!

The Birdcage Bandstand, Brighton – a Wedding Photographer’s Dream

When Lucy & Luke got married at the Marriage Room, Hove Town Hall last Saturday, they really needed a better looking location for their wedding photographer to catch them in a romantic moment of matrimonial bliss. So we all jumped into the wedding car (a Brighton taxi) and went down to the Birdcage Bandstand, sole survivor of a once proud line of such bandstands that graced the promenade of Brighton & Hove, newly renovated and restored and looking glorious with its intricate wrought iron tracery illuminated against a cloudy, stormy sky heavy with August rainclouds. As a Sussex wedding photographer I get to photograph some very lovely wedding venues around East and West Sussex, but sometimes moments spent at a characterful location like the Birdcage Bandstand can make all the difference to a set of wedding photos.

A Sussex Wedding Photographer in Richmond Park

As a Sussex-based wedding photographer, most of the weddings at which I’m the official photographer are, unsurprisingly, around Brighton, Lewes, Crawley, Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath. However sometimes a referral from couple who have already had me as their wedding photographer can lead to a job outside my usual areas – the furthest of which was Sydney, Australia – but that’s another story for another time. On 9th July 2010, Zoe & Sam engaged me as their wedding photographer at a beautiful wedding in the elegant surroundings of Pembroke Lodge, which lies inside Richmond Park – that’s the Royal park with the Queen’s deer roaming around.

As a surprisingly confident and nerve-free Sam warmly greeted the guests on the sunshine on the terrace, the nervous bride, Zoe, arrived looking gorgeous, leaving her brother wondering out loud what had happened to the sister he’d grown up with. A wedding photographer always hopes for sunny weather, though it brings with it its own challenges, such as meltingly hot bride & groom, people squinting into the sun, and red shiny faces. This was no exception – the day was incredibly hot, the marriage room inside Pembroke Lodge was sweltering, and the video man and I were sporting very lovely semi-transparent white shirts by the end of the ceremony.

Still, the wedding photographer wasn’t disappointed with the splendid blue skies & backlighting which resulted in some lovely wedding photos from a not-so-Sussex wedding.

I used this company because they were recommended by 2 other couples who liked casual photos. Jon arrived at the venue early and stayed after his time had run out, the gallery photos are excellent and he didn’t prove any bother and we weren’t tripping over him all the time. The pictures are natural with some posed, as we had asked. Jon obviously takes pride in his work as he emailed me once the gallery went up. A Beautiful Sussex Christmas Wedding

Vicki & James got married on 24th December 2009 – yes, Christmas Eve. As a wedding photographer, I love Christmas weddings because there’s always something a bit more special – call it “Christmas magic” or whatever. All the Christmas lights, the anticipation of the festive season, a sense of nostalgia heightening the emotion, and the extra little touches couples add just because it’s Christmas – like the visit from Father Christmas which kids of all ages always love. This was a real Sussex wedding, with the ceremony taking place at the historic Beddingham Church in the shadow of Mount Caburn near Newhaven, Sussex, just a few miles along the coast from Brighton; then a lavish reception at Brighton’s Hilton Metropole Hotel; and some outdoor photos in the refreshingly cool air on Brighton seafront. I already knew Vicki, her daughter and her mum from a great studio makeover photoshoot some while ago, so it was like a reunion with old friends, and I was made to feel like more than just the wedding photographer, for which I’d like to thank everybody concerned, including the wonderful toastmaster Alan Riddick who made the whole day extra special and kept everyone in order with the lightest of touches. This is a really beautiful, touching wedding that I’ll remember for a very long time, and I hope the bumper crop of over 1,000 photos help Vicki, James and their family & friends remember it all equally vividly.
